Grace Katherine Harvey Lorber

GILLETTE, Wyo. -- Grace Katherine Harvey Lorber, 81, Wright, Wyo., formerly of Motley, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyo.

She was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Brainerd to Earl and Katherine Harvey. She attended school until the ninth grade and then went on to complete school to become a licensed beautician. She worked at various beauty shops in the area until she married Leo A. Lorber Jr. on Jan. 13, 1942. She also worked at the ElRay Motel and Madden Resorts. They farmed together on the Lorber farm until her husband went into carpentry. They lived on the farm until he died on April 10, 1978. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley. She was active in the Christian Women's groups of St. Michael's parish. She assisted in many church breakfasts and dinners.

Survivors include three sons, Louis Leo Lorber, Santa Clara, Calif., Steven Douglas Lorber, Motley, and Michael Patrick Lorber, Motley; a daughter, Diane Grace Allguer, Wright, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, two brothers and two sisters died earlier.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Motley with Father Robert Landsberger officiating. Burial will follow in the Motley Public Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples with rosary at 6:30 p.m. and will be led by Janet Feakes and JoAnn Shequen with parish prayers to follow.
