CROSBY -- The Crosby-Ironton School Board Monday approved its preliminary 2001 levy, the maximum amount by law.
The final levy will be determined in December. Linda Peterson, business manager, the referendum that residents will vote on this November is not reflected in the preliminary levy.
The total levy is proposed to decrease next year by about .35 percent from $4.46 million to $4.45 million. This amount includes HACA credit, which is proposed to increase by 1.78 percent in 2001.
The general fund is proposed to increase in 2001 by 1.88 percent from $3.83 million to $3.90 million. The community service fund is funded by the state and from other sources other than the levy and does not affect the taxpayers, said Peterson.
