Newest segment of trail to be dedicated

BAXTER -- A new eight-mile segment of the Paul Bunyan Trail is set for dedication in Baxter.

Dedication is set rain or shine at 10 a.m. Oct. 4 at College Square convenience store in Baxter at the intersection of College Road and County Road 48. Speakers will begin at 10:30 a.m. with an 11 a.m. to noon bike or skate to the new Mississippi River Bridge and back, weather permitting.

The event will be hosted by Brainerd/Baxter Trails Committee and organized by the Paul Bunyan Trail Association and Brainerd Community Action. The trails committee includes representatives of Brainerd, Baxter, Crow Wing County, Minnesota Department of Transportation, DNR Trails and Waterways, DNR parks, Crow Wing Township, Paul Bunyan Trail Association, MN.USA, Brainerd Snodeo's, Baxter Snowmobile Club and area developers and individuals.
