Oberstar announces grant for clinic
Congressman Jim Oberstar announced Monday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded a grant for $93,822 to the Longville Lakes Clinic.
The Longville Lakes Clinic is a nonprofit organization that contracts with Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, because the community of Longville does not have a pharmacy.
"Up to now, people who receive prescriptions at the clinic at the time of treatment have to drive 30 miles to get prescriptions filled, or they have to wait for their mail order service, which will be four to five days at a minimum," Oberstar said. "With this USDA Distance Learning and Telemedicine grant, pharmacy service will be available to people at the clinic at the time of service."
The pharmacist at CRMC will be the dispensing pharmacist.
