Lydeen, Beltz pace Patriots

PILLAGER - Pequot Lakes' Silas Lydeen and Kylie Beltz each took top individual honors to lead their teams to first-place finishes at the Pillager Invite Thursday.

Lydeen led the way for the Patriots' boys' team with a time of 18:12. Jake Braam and Adison Runberg followed Lydeen with second- and third-place finishes while Sam Headlee finished sixth and Jordan Anderson took seventh.

For the Patriot girls, Jackie Brine-Doyle finished behind Beltz's first-place time of 17:21 by clocking a 17:39. Savannah Stone and Jordan Roy ended up fifth and six for Pequot Lakes.

Sarah Neururer recorded a third-place finish in 17:50 to pace the Pillager girls' team to second place while Sonora Nolan-Rapatz, Shauna Maurer and Kayla Rardin captured fourth, seventh and ninth.

The Huskie boys' team finished fourth as Matt Neururer was eighth.

Pine River-Backus took third in the boys' event and fourth in the girls' meet as Travis Wheeler ran to fourth place and Kira Taylor ended up in 15th to lead the girls.

Six Flyers in top 10

COLD SPRING - Little Falls' Manon Gammon-Deering led all Flyer runners with a third-place time of 15:49 at the Rocori Invitational Thursday.

The Flyers placed second behind Alexandria. Chelsea Rutz and Maria Hauer finished ninth and 10th, respectively, for Little Falls.

Little Falls also placed second behind Alexandria on the boys' side. Ricky Devine was fourth at 17:28 to lead the Flyers. Preston Zimny finished sixth and Eli Ploof was ninth.
