Rene 'Rainy' Baillif

GARRISON - Rene Louis " Rainy" Baillif, age 87, of Garrison, died on Sept. 23, 2009, at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin. He was born on June 24, 1922, in Bloomington, Minn., to Charles and Lillian (Hogan) Baillif. He married Donna Rose Martin on Nov. 8, 1947, in Minneapolis. Rainy owned and operated R.L Baillif Construction for 50 years. He drove school bus for the Bloomington and Brainerd school districts for 25 years.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; three sons, Harold (Suzie) Baillif, Richard (Patti) Baillif, Paul (Mary) Baillif, all of Brainerd; two daughters, Susan (David) Bowman, of Hillsboro, N.C., Vicky (Bill) King, Deerwood; two brothers, Alfred (Shirley) Baillif, of Valley Center, Calif., Victor Baillif, of Burnsville, Minn.; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Heather Bowman; two brothers, Walter and Ernest Baillif.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison Community Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church.
