The Brainerd YMCA will host a family dance and fun night from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday.

There will be dance lessons along with a dance demonstration from professional dance instructors. There will be dance contests with prizes, along with cake, punch and other refreshments. The cost is $20 per family. Purchase family tickets at the YMCA member services counter or call 829-4767 for more information.

Auditor advises voters Oct. 14 is last day for advance election registration

Crow Wing County Auditor Deborah A. Erickson reminded those residents who are not registered to vote or who changed residences since the last election that Oct. 14 is the last day to register in advance for the Nov. 4 general election.

Crow Wing County residents may register at the county auditor's office on the second floor of the historic courthouse in Brainerd from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.

Residents who do not register by 5 p.m. Oct. 14 may register at the polls on Election Day but must furnish proof of residence. More information may be obtained by calling the auditor's office at 824-1045.
