HART will offer educational classes from 9-11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the first Saturday of each month October through May (excluding December) at the HART Shelter for children age 4-10 to learn about animal issues, create fun animal crafts and spend time with the HART animals.

Enrollment is limited to 20 students per session.

No charge but donations are welcome.

Classes are taught by professional teachers and assisted by HART volunteers.

To enroll call Jan at 828-3449 or stop at HART for a registration form. Registration deadline is Sept. 30. A parent does not have to attend with the student.

This program is made possible through a grant from Crow Wing Power Roundup Program.

Brainerd parks board to meet

The Brainerd Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the conference room at Brainerd City Hall.

School board to meet Oct. 13

The next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Brainerd School Board will be 7 p.m. Oct. 13. There is an error in the school district's blue calendar that mistakenly lists the meeting on Oct. 6.

Blood donors needed

An American Red Cross blood drive is scheduled for 1-7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Oct. 2 and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Heritage Assembly of God, 13242 Berrywood Drive, Baxter.
