Pequot Lakes shuts out Aitkin in area tennis

PEQUOT LAKES -- The Pequot Lakes Patriots tennis team continued to roll with a 7-0 win over Aitkin Tuesday.

Ashley Meschke improved to 23-2 while sophomore Valerie Meschke improved to 24-2 and picked up her 90th career win.

Pequot Lakes coach Mindi Brill praised her No. 1 and 2 doubles teams with playing competitive tennis and coming back for wins.

"These were tremendous wins for all four girls," Brill said of Kristin McSherry, Kristi Bender, Jenny Baker and Samantha Moen. "The four of them are looking to get some good seeds for the individual subsection tournament."
