The Brainerd School Board meeting to discuss the school budget, decided on an informal basis to purchase the 40 acres of state-owned land in south Brainerd.

Thrilled at the prospect of entertaining a world-renowned couple, Lt. Gov. and Mrs. C. Elmer Anderson left Brainerd this morning for St. Paul where tomorrow evening they will greet the Duke and Duchess of Windsor during their brief stay in Minnesota.

Rotary Club and other committees met with Chamber of Commerce to see if some means cannot be devised to bring about the paving of South Sixth Street and West Laurel Street.

Mr. Kirvan, the Merrifield blacksmith, is a very busy man now days. He has a full house of horses, most of the time, and he knows how to shoe 'em too.
