LITTLE FALLS -- Stanley Wielinski, 89, Little Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.
He was born July 30, 1911, to Simon and Anna (Rutz) Wielinski in Little Falls. He graduated from Little Falls High School and St. Cloud Business College. After college, he worked for the Minnesota Power and Light Company and then at the Little Falls Hatchery. He married Celia Richter on Aug. 20, 1935, in Little Falls. In 1961 he started working for the Little Falls Machine Co. and retired in 1975. His wife died in 1973. He later married Alvina Gaida in 1976. He was active in the Little Falls community for 70 years. He was a Little Falls School Board Member from 1942-1972. He received the Outstanding School Board Member of Minnesota Award in 1972 from the Minnesota School Board Association. He was also active in Our Lady of Lourdes Choir since 1926. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1804 and served as Grand Knight from 1980-1981. He received the President's Award in 1992 and a Melvin Jones Fellowship. He was active in amateur baseball for 35 years.
Survivors include three sons, Stan Wielinski, Perham, Tom Wielinski, New Brighton, and Ken Wielinski, Falcon Heights; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
His first and second wives, seven brothers and five sisters died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with Father Alan Wielinski and Father Leroy Kremer officiating. Burial will be at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Cemetery in Little Falls.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until services Wednesday at Brenny Funeral Home (West Chapel) in Little Falls. Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:30 p.m., with parish prayers at 7 p.m., followed by the Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
