HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- Clemens "Clem" A. Terwey, 89, Hutchinson, Kan., died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born March 5, 1911, in Melrose to Herman and Agnes (Inering) Terwey. He had been a Hutchinson resident since 1984, having moved from Minnesota. He worked as an inspector for American Steel and Wire Co. in Duluth for 37 years, retiring in 1972. He attended St. Teresa's Catholic Church of Hutchinson. He married Elizabeth Klosner on Oct. 1, 1935, in St. Rosa.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald, McGregor, Dennis, Hutchinson, and Chester, Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roman Terwey, Long Prairie; and three sisters, Fraces Osterhues, Spooner, Wis., Claira Peckscamp, St. Cloud, and Katherine Richter, Nashwauk.
A son, Richard, four brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren, died earlier.
Services will be noon Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church of McGregor. Burial will be in Round Lake Cemetery of McGregor. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Elliott Mortuary of Hutchinson, Kan.
