The sixth group of Pierz Pioneer Athletic Hall of Fame selections will be inducted Friday at halftime of the homecoming football game with Rockford.
The 2009 group includes Scott Geiger, class of 1995; Darren Girtz, 1991; Julia (Karst) Gray, 1995; Julie (Korf) Nielsen, 1996; Ryan Przybilla, 1994; and Amber (Thyen) Erickson, 1995.
A reception will be held after the game in the high school commons. The public is invited.
Final Crossing on Mille Lacs scheduled
The 28th and final Crossing windsurfing and kiting event will be conducted on Mille Lacs Lake this weekend.
Friday's agenda includes 10:45 a.m. racer's meeting at Garrison Beach and 8:30 p.m. welcome party at the Y-Club in Garrison.
On Saturday, there will be a 10:45 a.m. racer's meeting at the Y-Club and a 7:30 p.m. banquet and party at the Y-Club.
Sunday's events include a 10:30 a.m. racer's briefing at Garrison Beach and a 4 p.m. awards party at the Y-Club.

Tommies beat Oles
St. Olaf lost to St. Thomas 27-16 in MIAC football Saturday despite 157 passing yards by Brainerd High School graduate John Haberman.
Haberman had nine carries for 32 yards and a TD and was 19 of 32 passing and while being sacked twice.
The Oles play their homecoming game this weekend against Augsburg.
JV boys' soccer loses
Willmar defeated Brainerd 3-0 in junior varsity boys' soccer Tuesday.
Brainerd keeper Thor Linnerooth stopped four shots in the first half. Matt Benson saved five shots in the second half.
Fussy to speak to boosters club
Brainerd Warriors girls' tennis coach Ellen Fussy will be the speaker at the Brainerd Sports Boosters Club meeting, which begins at noon Thursday at the Moose Lodge.
Football player Kyle Crocker is the Warriors Athlete of the Week.
Sophomores beat Willmar
The Brainerd Warrior sophomore football team defeated Willmar 42-14 last Thursday.
Matt Pohlkamp had touchdown rushes of six and eight yards. Nick Welch contributed to Brainerd's offense with TD runs of three, 12 and 35 yards. Mitch McLain capped off Brainerd's scoring with a 5-yard run.
Pohlkamp kicked two extra points while Welch rushed for a 2-point conversion. Dustin Borlaug threw a conversion pass to Logan Peterson.
Brainerd's defense was led by Trevor Dukowitz's two interceptions.
The Warriors (2-1) travel to Moorhead for a 5 p.m. game Thursday.
