Iona J. Dahl
MERRIFIELD - Iona Joy Dahl, age 73, resident of Merrifield, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village.
Iona was born in Binford, N.D., on March 11, 1934, to John and Anna (Anderson) Shogren. She married Clayton Dahl in Binford on June 8, 1952. She was a member of Ossipee Community Church, taught Pioneer Club, was a Cub Scout and 4H leader, had served as a Center Township election judge and had been an Avon representative. Iona was an avid gardener, loving mother and grandmother, and loved the Lord.
Survivors include her children, Ellen (Larry) Eksten of Merrifield, Angela (Dave) Ringstrom of Brainerd, Clayton Dahl of Merrifield, Julie (Kevin) Woizeschke of Brainerd, Gerald (Chari) Dahl of Merrifield and Melissa (Troy) Srock of Crosby; grandchildren Teresa Davis, Amanda Ringstrom, Katie Eksten, Melynda Ringstrom, Aimee Haukos, Matthew Eksten, Lane Srock, Sam Srock and Seth Srock; great-granddaughter Abygail Eksten; and sister Veona Hildebrandt of Columbia Heights.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton, her parents and six brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at the Ossipee Community Church with Pastors Ralph Hegman and Gary Espeseth officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Center Township Cemetery.
