If you live in Crow Wing County and want to take part in the discussion about the county's proposed $35.76 million building project, an opportunity now is available.
The Crow Wing County Board agreed Tuesday to form a short-term Citizens Involvement Committee. The committee will define specific issues that are barriers to customer services, such as parking, privacy, convenience and location and define specific ways to help make county facilities more citizen-friendly.
The mission of the committee is to view county service delivery from a customer perspective and make a recommendation to the county board for improvements that can be included in the master planning efforts.
The county board would like the committee to consist of one representative from each commissioner's district, a human services representative, a youth member, a city or township representative, a health client, a veteran, a senior citizen, someone who is physically challenged, a Realtor, an attorney and any other interested party.
The committee is expected to begin meeting in mid- to late-October and be completed with its task within 60 days.
Anyone who wants to serve on this committee should send a brief letter or contact the county auditor's office no later than Oct. 13.
