Verna "Sweetie Gramma" Wilson, 88, Brainerd, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
She was born Nov. 1, 1916, in Montevideo, Minn., to Frederick and Minna (Ostlie) Schroeder. She married Clifford Wilson on June 21, 1936, in Brownton, Minn. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, craft sales and going to the cabin. She was a foster grandparent in the Brainerd School District for 10 years, previously having worked in the garment industry for 18 years.
Survived by her sons, Gerald (Joan), of Beloit, Wis., James (Mary), of Merrifield; her daughters, Nancy (Robbie) Robison, of Merrifield, Marjorie (Steven) Hofner, of Pillager, and Betty (Don) Schultes, of Maple Grove, Minn.; her brothers, Nordahl (Wanda) Schroeder, of DeRitter, La., and Wallace (Clarice) Schroeder, of Appleton, Minn.; her sisters, Dorothy Appelholm, of River Falls, Wis., and Eleanor (Myron) Koosman, of Appleton, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clifford E. Wilson, in 1983.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd. Interment will be in the Motley Public Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
