JV girls' soccer team remains unbeaten

BAXTER -- The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity girls' soccer team defeated the Alexandria Cardinals 6-0 Saturday to remain unbeaten in 10 games.

Brainerd goals were by Natalie Niager, Vinny Spagnuolo, Aimee Tagtmeier (2), Shelby Ludwig and Laura Ashburn. Assists went to Laura Baden, Lauren Seipp and Keri Andrews.

Brainerd goalkeepers Becka Gellert and Melissa Hanson each had 2 saves. The Warriors have the best junior varsity record in the conference.

The Warriors host Sauk Rapids on Tuesday at the Baxter field.

JV volleyball team fifth at Pierz

Pierz -- Kilah Berry led the Brainerd Warriors junior varsity volleyball team to a fifth-place showing in the Pierz tournament Saturday.

Berry had a team-high 6 ace serves and 28 set assists.

The Warriors defeated Milaca 15-9, 13-15, 15-8; lost to Sauk Centre 15-11, 15-12; lost to Onamia 15-7, 15-13; and defeated Pequot Lakes 15-2, 13-15, 15-7.
