It's too bad you can't even ride your all-terrain vehicle down a field or road without getting killed. I thought they were made for rugged terrain? I read of one or two fatalities per month in Minnesota affecting children, teens and adults. I wonder what the statistics are nationwide? These machines are obviously unsafe.
It has always been the soldier
It is the soldier, not the president, who gives us democracy. It is the soldier, not the Congress, who takes care of us. It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of the speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, that has given us freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who served beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.
Don't criticize others
Why does the letter writer think he can criticize people who don't earn enough money to keep up with all of the increases tacked on to our taxes, groceries, household goods, gas to our cars, the list has no end? In this area we have employers who won't pay a decent wage only to hire part-timers. Our wage increases don't begin to cover the increases in everything else. How can a person think about saving for the future when we're forced to spend our income to get by from day-to-day. College education doesn't guarantee higher pay either.
