Civil Air Patrol

The Crow Wing Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol is grateful for the generous donations given recently to our organization in our squadron building remodeling project. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Dennis Woltman of Granite City Concrete of Crosslake, Joel Lindahl of Bauerly Brothers ReadyMix, Home Depot of Brainerd, Valspar Paint Company, St. Joseph's Medical Center, and Pete Clement and the Sentence to Serve Crew of Crow Wing County. Their donations of supplies and labor allowed our squadron to remodel our building into one of the finest training facilities in the Minnesota WING. We continue to remain ready to serve out county, state and nation in time of need.

Kinship Partners

Thirty-nine Kinship Partners say "Thank you" to Richard Geike and his wife, Jane, owners of Fritz's Resort in Nisswa. That's how many people enjoyed a day of fishing, and a cook-out complete with hot dogs, soda, chips and ice cream bars! Fritz's Resort hosted the event, organizing donations of food, fishing bait and tackle, use of boats and pontoons, and rounding up a crew of volunteers to be our fishing guides. It was a day that had us all feeling that life is great, even if your boat runs out of gas!

Thanks also to Ron Waidelich, Dan Zimmerman and Roger Bednar for bringing and driving their boats, to Ed and Cody Carlson, Mike Hemmerich, Lyle Steffenson, Dave Schultz and Chuck Dullum for driving the boats provided by John Ward, Ken Hanson, Jeff Neu and Fritz's Resort, and to Jim Lommel for his work as a "runner," keeping us all supplied with bait, tackle and gas!

Donations of food and fishing supplies came from Koep's Bait and Tackle in Nisswa, Oasis Sport Shop in Pequot Lakes, Schaefer's Foods in Nisswa, Larry Mortenson of Old Dutch and Mick from Schwan's Frozen Foods. Our thanks to them for their kindness and support of Kinship Partners.

Finally, in the words of one of the kids there that day, speaking about Richard Geike, "Boy, I can't believe it ... that guy is SO nice!"
