The Crow Wing County Land Department said it will increase enforcement in non-motorized areas in response to comments received during development of the county's Forest Management Plan for tax-forfeited land.
The added enforcement is intended to promote compliance with the law in non-motorized areas on the county's tax forfeited lands. Forest roads/trail crossings on county lands are open to motorized and/or non-motorized uses except where posted as closed to a particular use. If an area is closed to motorized use, a gate and sign typically will be present at the trail entry and exit points to inform the public of the restriction. County officials request that people respect the gates and signs and comply with restrictions or risk prosecution. The Sheriff's Department and Land Department will patrol non-motorized areas during hunting season to check for compliance.
Call the Crow Wing County Land Commissioner's office at 824-1115 for more information.
