Sartell bounces Brainerd in volleyball

SARTELL -- After winning six out of their last seven games, the Brainerd Warriors' volleyball team lost a four-game decision to the Sartell Sabres on Thursday.

Sartell defeated the Warriors 11-15, 15-8, 15-13, 15-12 in a Central Lakes Conference matchup.

Lisa Renneke was 13-14 serving with two ace serves, one block, 32 digs and 18 kills. Annie Zauhar was 16-19 serving with one ace serve, 13 blocks, 31 digs and 10 kills for Brainerd. The Warriors' slipped to 3-4 in the conference and 6-6 overall.

"We were a little flat and we seemed kind of tired tonight," said Brainerd head coach Heidi Hahn.

The Warriors had placed second in the Crosby-Ironton tournament last Saturday.

"We weren't able to generate much momentum tonight," said Hahn, "but as a team we're still solid and will be fine if we play together."
