The cowards that write to Vox Pop in the Brainerd Dispatch criticizing the C-I superintendent, business manager, school board, should be ashamed of themselves. Get over it! The teachers' strike is over and done with!
Instead of criticizing they should be praising the administration for getting us out of S.O.D. and building our reserve as required by law. We have finished with the remodeling and building of our new school and it is beautiful. Enrollment of grades 7-12 are up and kindergarten through six had 575 students at the end of 2004-2005 school year, and now there are 645 enrolled.
Total enrollment 1,228.
So those who keep writing without signing their names to their comments should be ignored. It's sour grapes because they didn't get all they wanted during the teacher's strike.

Let's change mourning dove law
Sick, sick, sick, is all I could think of when seeing and reading of the photo-op of those fearless hunters who shot the five doves.
Doves are our emblem of peace -- as the eagle is our emblem of the U.S. What a magnificent achievement to kill off five birds who were a definite help to the environment, eating only seeds which weren't needed by humans.
Should they, the hunters, be recognized as brave, helpful? Or just maybe we should educate them environmentally and change our law back to protecting the doves -- right?
New slogan: Re-elect no one
So the governor and some key lawmakers are talking about another special session. This one to build not one, but three sport stadiums, at a cost of nearly $2 billion dollars. With all the problems this state and the country are having, they must have lost their marbles.
First they couldn't get the job done in five months, so they had a 45-day special session, shut down the state, and sent thousands of workers home without pay while they drew their salary and expenses, and still didn't get it right. In fact some of them, like Rep. Paul Gazelka, decided this was a good time to take a business trip. So, miss a few votes, and still draw your pay. Not a bad job. Just get hired, don't show up for work for a few days, and still get paid. How many of you can do that?
I saw a bumper sticker the other day -- it said "Re-elect no one." Not a bad idea.
