Way to go, Crosby! Your people and town should be proud of your accomplishment for the $150,000 Project Play. Maybe Baxter being 10 times the size should step up and build a nicer place for the kids at Whipple Beach considering there are four swings and one play area that is really for toddler-aged kids and not big enough for school-aged children.
Two defining forces
As I listen to all the criticism that America is taking from outside and within, just remember, only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
Another all-terrain vehicle death, and it looks like, caused by the ruts made by other ATVers. If this was on the highway and it was drunken driving, there would be a clampdown that wouldn't quit but this is our price we pay for economic development. How sad.
More poor planning
Regarding the Vox Pop comment in Tuesday's paper about the overpass being on 210 and 371 instead of 48, obviously this person doesn't drive or live around 48. Now that school's on again, I have to leave at least 15 minutes earlier to make it to work on time. Traffic is backed up down 48 and it's stop and go all the way to College Drive. But having a straight lane with a right turn lane instead of a left turn lane at College Drive doesn't help matters either. Once again, we can chalk that up to poor planning.
Can someone mow?
Thanks, Minnesota Department of Transportation, for finally painting the rusty signal light poles in east Brainerd. They look so much nicer now. Now can you, or someone, mow the 3-foot tall weeds that grew up after the paving was done between the curb and the north fence along the Burlington Northern property?
