Willmar netters defeat Brainerd 6-1

WILLMAR -- The Willmar Cardinals swept all four singles matches and went on to post a 6-1 victory over the Brainerd Warriors on Thursday.

Katie Watland-Lyndsey Travica picked up a victory at No. 1 doubles for the Warriors, who fell to 2-8 in the conference and overall.

"Katie and Lyndsey got off to a slow start but played a really nice match for us," Brainerd coach Bruce Thompson said.

In the junior varsity meet, Megan Owens and Jessica Lofrano each picked up singles wins for Brainerd.
