Myrtle E. Olson

EDEN PRAIRIE -- Myrtle E. Olson, 100, Eden Prairie, formerly of Brainerd, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in Minneapolis.

She was born March 27, 1902, on a farm near Cushing to Louis A. and Ella M. (Denison) Gorman. She married Axel Edwin Olson on July 4, 1924, and moved to Brainerd. She was active in her church, Christian Women's clubs, taught Sunday school and delivered Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Jensen, Edina; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; a brother, Clarence Gorman; and two sisters, Violet and Adeline.

Her husband; two brothers, Roy and Albert; three sisters, her twin sister, Mabel Gorman, and Irene and Ida, died earlier.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Fireside Room at First Presbyterian Church in Brainerd with Pastor Ralph Hegman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Memorials are preferred to First Presbyterian Church in Brainerd or Diabetes Research.

Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd and an hour before services Monday at the church.
