Mrs. Barbara Gosen, who has been director of Crow Wing County Civil Defense since January of 1961, was presented with a plaque for outstanding service. Mrs. Gosen is now leaving her present post for a federal defense position.

The Brainerd School Board last night decided to meet as a committee to decide what direction it should take in regard to a vocational school, junior college and the possible need for additional classrooms.

A USO-sponsored center for enlisted men and officers of armed forces who may visit the city, was opened at 1:30 p.m. today in the Olson Building, South Sixth Street.

Several of the Boss Barbers of the city met last night to discuss matters. The most prominent question brought up was the price of shaving. For some time now the price has been 10 and most barbers want the price increased to 15.
