Firefighters respond

The Brainerd Fire Department responded at 6:43 p.m. Thursday to a small fire in a metal building on Norwood Street.
Owner Erick Godfrey extinguished the fire before the department arrived, it was reported. Estimated damage was $100.
False alarm
The Brainerd Fire Department responded to what turned out to be a false alarm at 7:25 p.m. Thursday at North Star Apartments on East River Road.
