Pequot improves to 2-1 with shutout win

PEQUOT LAKES - Pequot Lakes quarterback Matt Michaelson figured in on almost all the points in the Patriots 29-0 Heart O' Lakes Conference victory over East Grand Forks Friday.

Michaelson began the scoring with a 10-yard pass to Cole Engen in the first quarter and then ran for the conversion. Michaelson scored on runs of 5 and 7 yards in the third and added a 28-yard field goal in the fourth. Senior halfback Nick Greer scored the final touchdown on a 1-yard run.

After calling signals for the first half, Michaelson switched to running back in the second and led all rushers with 13 attempts for 122 yards.
