Despite objections from city attorney D.A. Larson, mayor Bob Olson has called for a public meeting concerning $700,000 in loans guaranteed by the city through American National Bank to BITC. Larson said the meeting should be closed.

Veteran Ramsey County District Court Judge Harold Schultz has been named by the state supreme court to preside at a show-cause hearing in Brainerd's fluoridation dispute. The city has been in violation of the mandatory fluoridation law since July 1.

Members of the Minnesota Federation of Typographical Unions, in their 40th annual convention here at the Ransford Hotel, named Milo Erickson of Brainerd as vice president, and William Demmers of Brainerd as an executive board member.

(Editorial) Brainerd has done everything possible to urge the paving of State Highway No. 2 from Brainerd to Duluth. Resolutions have been adopted by the county and the chamber, and both Duluth newspapers have called for pavement instead of gravel.

The Rogers-Brown Ore Co. is pushing its work of prospecting on its ore finds near the new town of Crosby, on Serpent Lake. The company has let contracts for the erection of boarding camps for their men, confirming rumors that a shaft will be commenced.
