STAPLES -- Lillian Belle Aagard, 92, Staples, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Greater Staples Care Center.
She was born Nov. 11, 1908, in Wadena County to Jacob and Sarah (Cook) Fleisher. She attended country school near Esterday. She married Gerald Knox on June 22, 1929, in Walker. They lived on a farm north of Staples until their retirement in 1970. They moved to Staples where she worked at the Senior Center preparing meals. He died Jan. 28, 1972. She married Hans Aagard in April 1977. After his death on Jan. 2, 1980, she moved to the Staples High Rise. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Knox, Holcombe, Wis., and Sherman Knox, Staples; four daughters, Jean Koppes, Staples, Phyllis Seel, Wichita Falls, Texas, Norma Knox, Staples, and Mary Lou Flannery, Wichita Falls, Texas; two stepdaughters, Charlotte Stemson, Wadena, and Monetta Stordahl, Dennison; two stepsons, Leroy Aagard, Wadena, and Hans Aagard Jr., Backus; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gertrude Junker, Motley.
Her first and second husbands, an infant son, two brothers and two sisters, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with the Rev. Bradley Skogen officiating. Burial will follow in Esterday Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
