SARTELL - Madison Smith scored 13:07 into the game and the Brainerd Warriors made the goal stand up for a 1-0 Central Lakes Conference win over the Sartell Sabres Thursday.

The Warriors outshot Sartell 3-0 in the first half, 13-5 for the game. Cami Andersen had five saves for the Warriors.

"I think the girls played really well," Warriors coach Sara Rojas said. "It was hot but the girls pushed through and we looked a lot better than Tuesday.

"Sartell is very good, one of our stiffer competitions. It was good to get an away win, now we're home for a while."
