20 years ago (1989)

Polished granite slabs, the focal point of the new All Veterans Memorial in Brainerd, were hoisted into place this morning. The memorial is being built on the lawn between the court house and the post office and is to cost $35,000.

30 years ago (1979)

(Adv.) Harold's Club, for the Finest in Food and Cocktails. Entertaining Saturday Night - "Virg and the Eldorados." In the lounge this week, Great Entertainment with "Dialogue." One block west of Brainerd on Highways 210 and 371.

40 years ago (1969)

60 years ago (1949)

A fast, smooth, hard-hitting Little Falls high school football team gave the Warriors their second defeat of the season, 7-0, at Roosevelt Field here. It was the home opener for Brainerd and its second defeat in the Central Ten conference.

80 years ago (1929)

Clarence Holden was chosen, at the senior meeting on Friday, to lead the class activities at Washington High School during the school year. Assisting will be Ross Olmsted, vice president; Obert Benson, secretary and Claude Holden, treasurer.

100 years ago (1909)

The Brainerd high school football team will meet Duluth Central High in Duluth on Oct. 2. Duluth side-stepped a game with Brainerd last year. Brainerd will be strong and fast and make the Zenith city team know it has been in a game.
