The Region 5 Child Care Resources and Referral is sponsoring two classes in Brainerd and one in Pillager this month.
An infant toddler intensive training class will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Pillager Area Family Resource Center. The class is about children's developing brains and ways adults can apply the training information in their day-to-day interactions with infants and toddlers.
To attend this class, bring a $10 check for a deposit to Carol Demmon, P.O. Box 566, Wadena, MN 56482. The check will be returned if you attend the class. This class counts toward a four-hour training requirement for the infant/toddler grant program.
Navigating the Landscape of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder class will run 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bright Beginnings Child Center in Brainerd. This class discusses the myths and facts of ADHD and successful strategies for inclusion of children who have the disorder.
This class will cost $10 if paid before Friday and $15 after Friday. Checks may be sent to Demmon.
The second class in Brainerd, primary for families, is free and will run 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 25. This class is part of the Crow Wing County Social Services Department's training series. These trainings were originally designed to train foster parents and now they have been adapted to meet the needs of child-care providers, too.
To register for this class call Demmon at 1-800-422-7395, extension 4.
