Penny to visit Brainerd area

Independence Party candidate Tim Penny has planned stops in Baxter, Brainerd, Crosby and Camp Ripley for Thursday and Friday.

Penny will receive a briefing from commanders and tour Camp Ripley at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. At 1 p.m. Thursday he'll visit LINDAR Corp., 1650 Hastings Road in Baxter, and meet with employees and Brainerd Lakes Area Chambers of Commerce members. The former congressman will speak at 2:30 p.m. at the Central Lakes College cafeteria. He'll walk down Crosby's Main Street and stop at the First Avenue Cafe at 4:15 p.m. Thursday. Penny's last scheduled event for Thursday is a 5:30 p.m. session with supporters at the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd.

On Friday Penny will join the other three candidates for governor at a Minnesota Health and Housing Alliance Candidate Forum at 9 a.m. at Madden's Resort on Gull Lake.
