WALKER -- The Cass County Capital Improvement Committee recommended and the county board approved paying an additional $2,080.86 to continue leasing space at Ah-Gwah-Ching from the state for the Family Safety Network through 2002.
The board also voted Tuesday to adopt a resolution requesting the state continue the prior lease rate of $8,997.24 in 2003, because the county has budgeted only $9,000 for the Family Safety Network for 2003.
The state proposed to increase the annual lease rate to $24,865.50 at the end of 2002.
The board gave no further consideration Tuesday to a Family Safety Network proposal made at the last board meeting to have the county construct an estimated $200,000 building at another location for that program.
