LITTLE FALLS -- The Morrison County Historical Society will present a program called "Threads of Identity" at its annual dinner meeting at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Jason's Restaurant in Little Falls.
Through "Threads of Identity," historical society staff members will discuss how clothing identifies people. Clothing styles place people into particular eras of history, as well as tell about people's occupations, ethnicities, personalities and more. Examples will be given using clothing from the collections of the Charles A. Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum.
Dolina, a Polish dance group from the Twin Cities, will perform during the "Threads of Identity" program. This group has been performing in traditional Polish costumes for world-wide audiences since 1949. Funding for Dolina to appear at the annual meeting is being provided by the Five Wings Arts Council.
The Morrison County Historical Society annual business meeting will be held during the "Threads of Identity" program. Terms of three board members expire this year and elections for board members will take place at the meeting. Those who are historical society members are allowed to vote for board members.
Cost of the dinner meeting is $15 per person. A Polish buffet will be served at 6 p.m. with the program to follow dinner. Those interested in attending must make reservations by today at (320) 632-4007.
