LITTLE FALLS -- Edward F. Balaski, 78, Little Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1922, in Little Falls to John and Mary (Bartkowitz) Balaski. He lived in Little Falls and attended school. He entered the Army and served during World War II in the 17th Airborne Division until his discharge. He returned to Little Falls and married Delores E. Schuett on Dec. 23, 1949, in Sisseton, S.D. He worked at Pancratz Roofing and Heating. In 1964, he began worked for Marcel LaFond Construction Co. In 1973, he worked for Peterson Construction Co., retiring in 1975 due to his health. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans in Little Falls.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randy Balaski and James Balaski, both of Little Falls; a daughter, Diane Gaboury, Fort Ripley; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Balaski, International Falls, Paul Balaski, Port Angeles, Wash., and Donald Balaski, Edmonds, Wash.; and a sister, Sara Berg, Tucson, Ariz.
A brother, George Balaski, and two sisters, Helen Larson and Marge Thacker, died earlier.
Services will be Wednesday.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Shelley Funeral Chapel of Little Falls.
