THIEF RIVER FALLS - Central Lakes College volleyball coach Jane Peterson had a simple explanation Wednesday night for the Raiders' loss to Northland here.

"We did not pass well and we did not serve well," Peterson said. "When you don't do those two things it's hard to do anything well."

Thief River took the first three games 25-18, 25-22 and 25-23 before CLC won the fourth game 25-18 and then fell in the deciding contest 15-7.

Northland improved to 2-2 in the division and 8-4 overall.

The Raiders had 12 serving errors and 11 receiving errors. Central Lakes continues to play without center Rachel Pfeffer, who has been sidelined with a sprained ankle.
