The Brainerd Lakes Area Early Childhood Coalition is hosting "Harvesting a Bountiful Future at The Farm on St. Mathias" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Children 2 and younger are free.
There will be concessions, a bake sale, farm activities and a kids' carnival.
This event also includes all that The Farm on St. Mathias offers including a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, hayrides, a giant slide, live animals and more.
Financial support for this event has been provided by sponsors Mills Fleet Farm, North Central Speedway and Early Childhood and Family Education, as well as other supporters including Bremer Bank, Initiative Foundation, Culligan, ECFE Advisory Council and Brainerd Community Education.
Money raised will be used to support all young children in reaching their full potential through quality programs, services and resources.

Lakes Area Caged Bird Club to host expo
The Lakes Area Caged Bird Club will host a bird expo from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Northland Arboretum, 14250 Conservation Drive, Brainerd.
There is no admission charge and there will be nothing for sale. It's an opportunity for someone who may be looking for a pet bird to talk to various people who have or raise birds and a great way to find out what may be the ideal pet bird for you and/or your family.
