Raiders move up a spot

The Central Lakes College Raiders football team has moved from 17th to 16th in the latest NJCAA poll.

CLC beat Mesabi 14-12 last week and plays Itasca at Grand Rapids at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

CLC's Taute player of week

Dennis Taute of Central Lakes College has been named the Southern Division Offensive Player of the week by the Minnesota College Athletic Conference.

Taute, a freshman from Milaca, ran for 74 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Raiders' 14-12 victory over Mesabi Range last week.

Brainerd JV girls win

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity girls' soccer team defeated Sauk Rapids 4-0 Tuesday.

Natalie Taylor scored twice and Stacy Tetreault and Brianna Olson each had a goal. Taylor, Tetreault and Molly Palm had assists.

Brook Nelson and Melissa Morey both played in the net, but didn't need to register a save.

Brainerd JV tennis results

The Brainerd junior varsity tennis team won six matches against the Little Falls Flyers Tuesday.

Krista Bjork, Alexa Wright, Hannah Stoll and Heather Johnson won singles matches and Kylee Kunde-Jinna Toft and Zoe Wolharl-Libby Chastain won doubles matches.
