Robert Claxton, a chemistry teacher at Brainerd High School, is one of six finalists in the Minnesota Teacher of the Year contest.

The Finance Committee of the Brainerd School Board, meeting in a joint session with the committee representatives, recommended a 1974-75 school budget totalling $11,215,034. The budget shows an increase of $7,33,580 over the budget last year.

Twenty-eight counties were listed as drought emergency areas by Gov. Karl Rolvaag today as eligible for emergency haying and grazing. The counties include Crow Wing and Aitkin.
