Open Forum

A Rosenmeier event

Posted: Wednesday, September 17, 2003

Thank you to The Dispatch for the excellent series, The Changing Faces of Todd County. Several of our central Minnesota communities are becoming more and more diverse. How well communities and its businesses adapt to the change may well determine how vital they become and how positive the experience is for both new and current residents.

This Thursday evening at Central Lakes College the Rosenmeier for State and Local Government will be holding their Fall Forum on the topic, "A Bridge Called Community; Building Inclusive Communities." Juan C. Moreno will be the keynote speaker. Mr. Moreno is a diversity and inclusion specialist at U of M Extension, and has a fascinating personal story of the immigration experience. Panelists will include former mayor of Melrose, George O'Brien, and Long Prairie Packing and Todd County Liaison, Sonia Reyes (who was featured in The Dispatch series.) Culturally diverse hors d' oeuvres will be served at 5:15 and the program begins at 5:30.

The Rosenmeier Center board invites you to attend and join in the discussion at this free event.
