BUCKMAN -- Raymond J. Simon, 37, Buckman, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Buckman Township.
He was born June 5, 1965, in Little Falls to Frank J. and Anna P. (Vanderheyden) Simon. He graduated from Pierz Healy High School in 1984. He attended Wadena Vocational School for one year and completed a course in auto detailing. He worked for Peter Chevrolet in Little Falls from 1985-1988. In April 1988, he began working for Appert's Foodservice in St. Cloud as a delivery truck driver until his death. In 1994, he became a licensed auctioneer. He also operated a hobby farm in Buckman Township where he raised beef cattle.
Survivors include his parents, Buckman; two brothers, Robert Simon and Paul Simon, both of Buckman; two sisters, Bev Then, St. Cloud, and Peggy Oltz, Sauk Rapids; and a special friend and her children, Susan Howard and Robert and Joseph.
His grandparents died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman with the Rev. Gerald Dalseth officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz and an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
