Central Lakes wins 2 of 4

WILLMAR - The Central Lakes College Raiders volleyball team defeated North Dakota State College of Science and Ellsworth, Iowa, and lost to the University of Sioux Falls junior varsity and Ridgewater at the Ridgewater tournament Saturday.

Shayna Foote led the Raiders with 21 kills in the four matches, Andrea Wynn had 34 assists, Rachel Voeltz had 15 blocks and Kaylee Hawks had 20 digs.

"We improved at some of the things we wanted to improve at," Raiders coach Jane Peterson said, "and we played well together as a team.

"As you can see by the scores when we lost it was not by very much. They were close games, games we were in. These are good teams we're playing, teams hopefully better than our conference opponents. That should prepare us for the coming week when we have three conference games.

"It was a good step forward for us. We're already talking about the next step we need to take."
