PEQUOT LAKES -- Dennis D. Hedman Sr., Pequot Lakes, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, in Pine River.
He was born Nov. 18, 1934, in St. Peter, Minn., to Gunnard and Leona (Struck) Hedman.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He farmed for a few years after serving in the Army, then he moved to Breezy Point and opened his own garage and towing service, which he expanded into a boat storage business. He retired seven years ago. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes.
He is survived by his wife, Delores (Nagel) Hedman; his sons, Wesley, of Fort Rucker, Ala., Gunnard, of Fort Bragg, Ga., John, Nisswa, Dennis D. Jr., of Nisswa, and Mathew, of Babenhausen, Germany; his daughters, Angela Charlebois, of Lisbon, N.H., and Lori Elson, of Breezy Point; his sisters, Sandra Grieves, of Le Sueur, Minn., and Joanne Jacobson, Las Vegas.; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Camp Ripley, with military graveside rites by VFW Post No. 1647 of Brainerd. Arrangements are with Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home in Brainerd.
