BARROWS The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a barn fire at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday on Depot Street in Barrows.

The barn was ignited by a nearby burning brush pile. The barn, which was abandoned and empty, was a complete loss, the fire department reported.

The DNR assisted with small grass fires caused by the barn fire.

Firefighters respond to cut gas line

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to a broken gas line about 12:35 p.m. Tuesday at Home Depot.

Firefighters were on standby as a safety precaution while CenterPoint Energy Minnegasco fixed the gas line.
