S-M boys, Pierz girls third in Riewer meet

STAPLES - Gunner Johnson compiled a fourth-place time of 17:11 as the Staples-Motley boys' team took third in the Jerry Riewer Invite Saturday.

Jordan Bendson finished eighth for the Cardinals with a time of 17:40.

The S-M girls' team captured fourth place as Kaytlin Roth, Emma Pogreba and Katie Stone finished 7-8-9.

Mariah Hoheisel finished 11th with a time of 16:53 for the Pierz girls' team, which finished third. Sonya Theis ended up 13th for the Pioneers while Tracy Wimmer and Megan Hoheisel placed 16th and 17th.

The Pierz boys' team finished sixth as Eden Hanson led the way in 34th place.
