WILLMAR - Without injured setter Rachel Pfeffer for the second time in four days the Central Lakes College volleyball team dropped two of three matches Saturday at the Ridgewater tournament.
CLC lost 2-0 to North Dakota State College of Science, beat the University of Sioux Falls junior varsity 2-1 and lost 2-0 to the Bethel College JV.
Pfeffer sprained an ankle Tuesday night before the Hibbing match and missed all three matches Saturday.
"It makes a big difference," CLC coach Jane Peterson said. "We were just starting to click, have a little faster offense going. Hopefully, this week we'll go back to what we've been doing."
Krystle Hamilton, who replaced Pfeffer, had 33 set assists and 15 digs Saturday.
"Krystle did fine," Peterson said. "We're lucky to have her. She's willing to do it, she's willing to try. Playing one match is different from playing all day long. It's a different kind of effort.
"Our serving was better. That was the main good thing about this weekend."
Erica Feldewerd, Elora Meisner and Jenna Terhaar each had 11 kills for the Raiders.
