Thompson is club champion

Roxanne Thompson won the club championship for low gross and low net Aug. 18 and Aug. 25 at Pine River Country Club.

Thompson also won the first flight with Eunice Sorenson taking second.

Pam Musielewicz won the second flight followed by Eileen Springer.

Dorla Lind won the third flight followed by Lila Kersey.

Longest putt was by Kersey and Springer. Closest to the pin went to Thompson and Peg Kristoff. Thompson also captured two longest drives.

Lind, Springer and Margaret Kaye each had chip-ins.

Lind, Springer, Mary Jane Regan and Lurene Seaton tied with the team of Jean McMullen, Gloria Taylor, Nancy Schmidt and Joan Tuttle for first in the women's league's season-ending scramble Sept. 8.

The team of Mary Jean Herdey, Carol Sundlie, Donna Balzer and Norma Ware finished third.

Outing results

Barb Elmquist, Mary Deyoe and Linda Gronholz shot 41 to win the scramble event Sept. 6 during Grand View Lodge's women's outing at the Pines Golf.

Second place went to Kari Dayton, Ellie Balsimo and Carrie Thompson. Third were Ann Powers, Judy Anderson and Karen Williams.

Powers had a chip-in and a birdie.

On Sept. 4, the coed outing hosted its inaugural Las Vegas Invitational at the Pines with Gordy Johnson and Becky Butcher winning with 583.5 points.

In second was Jim Butcher and Susan A. Rogers with 622 points followed by Mark Kovalchuk and Shirley Olson with 659.

Skins winners for men were Jim Butcher, Kovalchuk, Rich Hultman and Doug Miller. Becky Butcher, Lynn Parker and Mary Miller were skins winners for the women.

Legacy women results

Gloria Thomas shot 44 for the lowest score of the championship league during the women's league Sept. 6 at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

Leslie Severson had the longest putt and Katie McCarthy was closest to the pin.

In the par 3 league, Rachel Wolthuizen shot 38 for low score. Heidi Brown had the longest putt and Char Patchett was closest to the pin.

Holes in one

Greg Holcomb, Chaska, aced the 146-yard 17th hole at the Classic at Madden's using an 8-iron.

John Moore, Minneapolis, aced the 135-yard second hole at the Classic at Madden's using a 9-iron.
