Little Falls wins first match of season

ST. CLOUD -- Little Falls captured its first win of the season Tuesday with a 4-3 Central Lakes Conference victory over St. Cloud Apollo.

Ashley Koester and Ashley Czech scored wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles for the Flyers.

Little Falls' Laura Yorek-Sara Peterson battled back to win in three sets at No. 3 doubles with a 7-1 tie-breaker win.

Pierz 5, Mora 2

MORA -- The Pierz tennis team, led by Kaitlyn Jensen's three-set win at No. 2 singles and a win from the No. 1 doubles team of Katie Sczublewski-Sam Gritzmacher, gave the Pioneers a 5-2 win over the Mora Mustangs in non-conference action Tuesday.

W-DC 4, Aitkin 3

WADENA -- The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines tennis team came away with a narrow 4-3 victory over the Aitkin Gobblers Thursday with three singles wins, headed by No. 1 player Ana Oliveira.

W-DC sealed its victory with a win from its No. 1 doubles team of Shelby Paavola-Beth Anderson.

Aitkin received two doubles victories and a singles win from Kelsey Klucas, who improved her record to 14-2.
